Not THIS kind of demolition... but yeah, we like this too.
We were getting antsy on a Saturday evening... frustrated really about our lack of progress on the house. (((I say WE, but it's really I)))... I am affectionatley known around the house as "hungry hungry hippos" because I thrive in a state of activity and chaos!... and I have been known to eat a marble or two...

Anyway, we decided that we would tear out our twins room. We moved their furniture into the breakfast nook off the kitchen and started preparing for the mayhem. We covered the floors with painters dropcloths and tore the old green paneling and taped the peices together to form a hard barrier to protect the floors. We removed the sash from the main window and parked our trusty blue Datsun (yes, so trashy) in our front yard right outside the window.

Noah and I before the fun begins.
We tore out all of the plaster and lathe. Walls and ceiling.
After it's all said and done.We are excited to have some insulation finally! We sprayed 1" thick foam on the exterior walls. Next we will put in paperless batts of insulation over that.
Noah also re-framed the closet door. Anyone who has ever lived in a old house knows how frustrating the closet space can be. We widened the opening 38-1/2" from 30" and extended the door height to 96" from 80". We plan to install two window shutters as the doors.
